Counselling in Greenwich
Hi, my name is Daniela and I’ve been a counsellor since 2008. I offer support for adults at Greenwich Wellness Rooms, near Lewisham in south London.
As a counsellor, I help you to understand yourself and the impact that pressure from society has on you. I provide a safe, supportive counselling setting where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. You may want to talk about difficulties you're facing, such as addiction, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship issues or LGBT issues. We’ll work together to help you make positive changes.
Everything we discuss in our sessions is completely confidential. I am an empathetic and respectful counsellor, and I always maintain professional boundaries.
I’m fluent in both Italian and English and I can offer counselling in either language. I embrace diversity and I make everyone feel welcome in my practice, regardless of race, religion, culture, sexuality, gender, faith and physical ability.
My counselling practice is in Greenwich, which is easy to reach from west London. However, if you live further away or it’s difficult for you to travel for face-to-face counselling, I can offer sessions over Skype.
The Model of Counselling I Use
As a counsellor, I understand that you are an individual and one single approach may not fix all of the issues you could be facing. That’s why I use an integrative approach to counselling. This means that we’ll work together to find the best approach for you as a whole person, incorporating your mind, body and spirit, which helps me to understand the challenges in your life.
This allows you to explore your whole world, including your family and social circles, so you can become more self-aware and develop new patterns of behaviour while removing addictive and negative ones.
I incorporate these approaches into counselling:
- Person Centred Approach
This type of therapy is led by you. I provide an empathetic, respectful ear, allowing you to delve into the issues you need to discuss, such as relationships, abuse and loss. Throughout our counselling sessions, I’ll empower and motivate you, helping you to change your outlook on life and increase your self-belief and self-esteem.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
I use CBT to treat specific problems, supporting you as you explore strategies to meet your goals. For addiction, CBT can help you to recognise moods, thoughts and situations that can trigger cravings or addictive behaviours.
- Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
With the SFBT approach, we’ll work together in collaboration to understand your goals and find ways to achieve them. We’ll focus on what’s already working for you and how you’d like your life to be, empowering you to develop a plan to make positive changes.
